7 Things I Learned About Photography During This 30 Day Challenge Project
1. I still like to take pictures.
2. Learning how to use a bridge or DSLR camera is a skill that develops over time. It takes regular learning and practice. In fact, modern cameras are so intricate I feel comfortable comparing learning to use one well to the technical part of learning how to play a musical instrument.
3. Learning the seeing part of taking photographs is also a skill that develops over time. It takes regular practice. The eye learns to see photographs like the ear learns to hear music.
4. I learned how much I don't know about either the camera or the picture.
5. Though I can now imagine the myriad ways I might improve as a photographer, I'm not in the market for another skill development activity.
6. Because of this, Photography doesn't fit my current definition of a "FUN" activity, which is something I can take up or put down at will. Like watching The Voice or NBA on tv. Or working jigsaw puzzles. Or reading a limited book series then watching the movies.
7. But it was FUN finding that out!
