LIVING IT!

Two more great Summer Series Runs and their pics have happened.

You'll notice I'm wearing my very cool TIE DYE shirts now!

Wild iris are in abundance.

See that steep hill behind me?  I ran the first half last week; this is the second half.  I made some noise.

A row of fir trees with their fresh spring tips.

Another Tiny Bear Hike too.

Jasmine came along.

A forest of tiny ponderosa pines.

I've been using my iPhone for pics and find it much less satisfactory than my Canon bridge camera.  The iPhone is the only option for runs, so I might need to learn some of its features, as point &shoot isn't doing the job.  I can take the Canon on hikes.

The NBA Championship Playoffs are set! Best 4 out of 7 starting June 2; ending no later than June 19.

Biking Skills Series

I can't help it.  I'm going to work on some biking skills.  I've chosen the first one to be looking over my left shoulder for traffic.  I thought it was just me, but the on-line article I'm using to learn is called..."How To Look Over Your Shoulder On A Bicycle Without Swerving".   Unless you correct for it, when you look over your left shoulder your center of gravity shifts left and the bike goes left.  The fix seems simple:  as you turn to look over the left shoulder, lean the bike to the right just a little.  That keeps you in a straight line.  Simple, right?  I'll see when I try it on my next ride.

A Secret

In the recent past I read a retirement-based article that said to go back through your whole life and see if there's anything you ever wanted to do and didn't...and do it.  I guess I'm going through my unlived hippyness, because besides the tie dye shirts, I've chosen another late-60's ethos: a  toe ring.  Toe rings have been through several revivals, and are readily available.  After the requisite un-hippy-like research, I decided on a fitted ring rather than one-size fits all.  Though less expensive, one-size have an opening and squeeze shut to fit to size.  More than one review said that little open place can catch on carpet or whatever while you're walking barefoot and the reaction ranged from "hurts like hell" to broken toes.  Pass on that.  I sprang for a fitted ring.  The secret part is...I don't go barefoot and I rarely  wear sandals.  So it's a little secret ring on my toe.  Which I LOVE!!!  Both the ring and the secret!
