I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT...

Ron's A Liar

or

You Can't Keep a Wood Man Down

You remember Ron decided early in the season that he was done wood cutting.  For life.  We agreed it was a good decision.  Then there was just a little bit of wood he couldn't say no to, and he went by himself to cut it.  Then the neighbor cut down a tree and said Ron could have it.  Then he found MORE wood.  Oak!  So close to the road!  It would be easy!  Wood I come??  Yes.

The Summer Running Series Is A Wrap!

This makes me a little sad, but it was SO GOOD...not really.  The reason I'm done is that I've run every run in the area. That's SO GOOD!  Here's the map again, with Runs 13 & 14 marked with red pen.  Run 13 was the loop. Hills were involved.  Run 14 I did just today, and will confess in a public venue that I trespassed on private property to run part of it.  Signed as such.  Locked gates.  Went under one gate and over the other.  Even met some people.  Another time I might have stopped and chatted, but given the circumstances, I said a very friendly "Good morning! Isn't it beautiful?" and kept going.

The cross has been there long enough the tree has grown around it at the top.  The Christmas decorations didn't look too worn, so someone still thinks about someone.

And A New Summer Idea

As noted previously, I've been keeping my eye open for any summer suggestions that might come my way.  It occurred to me that it might be nice to mark the summer season with a change of bedding.  I will say that in home decorating ways, I'm nowhere.  Ron likes it and has a good eye, and that's good enough for me.  That said, redecorating the house is not something either of us does as an activity.  The bedspread that's usually on the bed is a quilt Ron made decades ago to suit the room and us.  It's heavy; too much for summer.  Why not get a summer weight quilt and change things up seasonally?  Why not indeed.  It took some shopping. I did the initial looking and Ron weighed in on colors and so forth.  As our bedroom has strongly autumn colors in the wallpapers, I kept it within that color scheme.  I also looked on-line for information on "styling" a bed.  I'm super-pleased with the result.  The bedspread and the 5 throw pillows are new.  The two front pillows are ones my parents gave me, also decades ago, on which they embroidered around the designs to give them depth.  The throw is one we had.
