Lovin' The New Year!

HERE IT IS:

A WHOLE NEW YEAR TO DO WHAT WE WILL, AND CAN, AND WANT TO.   THAT'S EXCITING!

Last year I chose to Go Off The Deep End , starting with New Activities,  which I did with great enthusiasm.  Violin playing grew to include an Irish Fiddling class through NAU, swimming lessons refreshed and improved all my strokes, Tai Chi classes resulted in my being able to perform the 108 move set at an acceptable beginner level, travel was filled with family and new experiences.  I'm very pleased with New Activities.

Continuing Activities continued, with an emphasis on special house projects.  That included completing the first go-through of the entire house, keeping what we wanted and selling, recycling, or tossing what we no longer found useful.  Each room also got more or less renovation as needed:  kitchen more, bathroom less.  Ron completed reflooring downstairs a few weeks ago, an enormous job VERY WELL DONE.  Whew!

Routine Activities also continued, in their routine way.

This year, I've a different focus in mind. I want to start settling down with activities to enjoy over time, with a sprinkling of new activities.

Here's my new organizational structure:

 HAFT-TA'S
These are few.  A certain amount of maintenance: house, finances, car & personal.  Some sort of food consumption.  Sleep.

GET-TA HAFT-TA'S
This category is invoked by choices.  For instance, the choice to share our lives with animal companions means we also must do required care.  Fitness is a choice, but I consider it a non-negotiable part of my life.  Now that my time is so flexible, I want to continue to facilitate and maintain closer contact with family and friends with email, phone calls & visits.

GET-TA'S
You guessed it:  EVERYTHING ELSE! Because this category is pretty much out of control, I'm looking at dividing it by various types of time:

Daily
Weekly
Monthly
6-Week Cycles
Seasonal
Occasional

Two additional categories are:

 New Activities still untried.
Old Activities I'm finished with, some requiring disposition of gear.

I plan to put this in place throughout the year, working with the reality of 24 hour days.  Over time I expect those activities I want in the long term to be more closely revealed.  Other activities will be temporary or no longer of interest and can be dropped (who's kidding who here?).

There is so much to do, and I want to continue my efforts.

I hope your own New Year is a fulfilling adventure!
