Sally and I had a most excellent time at our 2nd Annual 2-Woman Music Camp at her and Jon's home in Kanab, UT.
I arrived late Sunday afternoon, and we started Camp Monday morning. Camp includes a few other activities, including lunch this day with friend Jennifer and sister Trevie at the Parry Lodge restaurant. Delicious salad bar, good conversation.
Lunch was followed by a now-traditional stop at the Kane County Hospital Foundation thrift store-in my opinion one of the best thrift stores EVER. Low prices, great selection, high turnover, really interesting art on the outside of the building. I scored heavily with books.
Back to music! Sally acquired a digital keyboard since last year's Camp, and did a first-rate job playing two solo pieces she's been working on.
Every day, lots of flute duets as well as violin and flute duets in this corner.
This is our busy work table, where we had games and puzzles, played palm pipes, practiced rhythm dictation and otherwise amused ourselves when not actually playing music.
Kanab is a beautiful setting, and I enjoyed a couple of early morning runs with these views:
We had lunch one day at the Best Friends cafeteria, and enjoyed a view like this:
We also stopped at Angel's Landing, a natural amphitheater within the Best Friends property.

It's available as a venue for events, but Sally says when it's not occupied anyone can visit and even play flutes if they like.....next year?
On Friday we played at two senior centers-The Beehive Assisted Living, and the Long Term Care Unit at the Kanab Hospital.
Afterward, Jon grilled delicious garlic-smothered steaks and veggies for dinner, assisted by one of his constant companions, Great Dane Layla:
The days flew by, filled with music and friendship. The last thing we did: planned our 3rd Annual Music Camp for 2016!
THRICE is sweet music sweet when every word
And lovely tone by kindred hearts are heard;
So when I hear true music, Heaven send,
To share that heavenly joy, one dear, dear friend!
